All is good so far. As long as I do not run Access 2007, the error is corrected. I then install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable and ACE 12 is updated. I can now read/write the Access 2010 db using VB.NET and ACE 12. I would have thought that the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. When I attempt to open the database using VB.NET and ACE 12 (that was installed with Office 2007) I get the error. I have Office 2007-32 and Visual Studio 2010 installed on my 32-bit.

Let's assume that the Access 2010 database is using features that are not available in Access 2007. Thank you for your reply but it doesn't fully address my question.
